Today was a fantastic day for me… actually, by the time this post goes live, it will be yesterday, but I digress.
I was able to catch up with two past-coworkers and, to be quite honest, it warmed my heart to know that I have friends from my old job that I can keep in contact with.
Roughly two months ago, I handed in my resignation from a job I’d been with for nearly 15 years. It was not an easy decision, and every single day, I have doubts about what I’ve done. I didn’t sleep properly for the entire first month after leaving. I began losing hair (no joke), and I’m guessing it was from the different form of stress I was dealing with. Thank goodness that’s on the mend, because it took me a long time to love my hair!
I left my job to become a freelancer, a #virtualassistant, someone who helps businesses and individuals with social media, WordPress websites and various basic administrative tasks. It was a HUGE risk, one that I would never have taken if my husband had not encouraged me to go for it.
I’ve never been happier. I’ve never felt better about my life. And no, I’m not making money hand-over-fist, but I’m earning money, and getting my name out there, and it can only get better from here.
